Donald Trump's ex-VP lauds Joe Biden on 'making right decision'


 Republican Mike Pence, who served as vice president in former US President Donald Trump's office, praised President Joe Biden after his withdrawal from the 2024 US presidential race.

Pence praised Biden for his "good decision" to not participate in the election and to put the interests of the American nation first.

- President Biden made good decisions for our country and I thank him for putting our country's interests before his own interests," he said.

Pence also called on leaders of both parties to remain calm and send a message of strength and determination.

Pence's support for Biden comes as no surprise, as the former vice president and Trump disagreed over the 2020 College Election protest at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

As for the new Democratic presidential candidate, Democrats are grooming current Vice President Kamala Harris as their new candidate for the November elections.

But the vice president-elect by President Biden in the 2024 US elections appears to be the preferred candidate for the post, with Democratic candidates announced after delegates vote in the first week just days before the August National Convention.
